Refunds & Returns Policy
Effective Date: 29 July 2026
This policy is written in accordance with the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008 (CPA) and the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act 25 of 2002 (ECTA). Nothing in this policy limits or waives any statutory rights you have under these Acts.
1. Delivery Area
We currently ship exclusively within South Africa. International shipping is not available at this time.
It's your responsibility to ensure the delivery address you provide at checkout is a valid South African address. We are not liable for delivery delays, failed deliveries, or any costs arising from an incorrect, invalid, or non-South African address entered at checkout. If an order cannot be delivered as a result, any costs already incurred in attempting delivery will be for your account.
2. Change of Mind
You may cancel your order and return your book within 7 calendar days of delivery, for any reason. The book must be unread and returned in its original condition. Return shipping costs are your responsibility, unless the item is defective, incorrect, or not as described. Once we receive the returned book, we'll refund the price paid to your original payment method.
3. Damaged, Defective, or Incorrect Items
In line with Section 56 of the CPA, all books are sold with an implied six-month warranty of quality from the date of delivery. If your book arrives damaged, defective, or isn't what you ordered, you're entitled to a replacement copy or a full refund, your choice, at any point within six months of delivery.
To help us process your claim as quickly as possible, please email us with your order number and a clear photo of the damage, including the packaging, within 30 days of delivery. If you contact us after 30 days but within the six-month window, your statutory rights still apply and we'll honor your claim.
4. How to Request a Return
Email mkay@mkaynoir.com with your order number and the reason for your return. We'll confirm the next steps by email. Once we've received and inspected the returned item, approved refunds are processed within 7 business days, back to your original payment method.
